Making their competitive cycling debut, the recently formed The Fry Group Unfound Cycling Club raced at the end of September, in the Tour of Kepri.
Comprising 3-stages, over three days, covering 300km, the race began with a 40km Criterium on Day 1 in Tanjung Pinang. Stage 2 was a 135km race on the island of Bintan while Stage 3 saw the cyclists racing over 130km in the Barelang Classic.
The Fry Group Hong Kong Director, James Sutton, won the 3-day race, winning gold for the Masters’ stages 1 and 3, and overall General Classification Masters 1stPlace trophy for the entire competition. The Fry Group Unfound Cycling Club also brought home Gold, placing 1stoverall.
The team comprises a group of passionate cyclists from a range of professional fields in Hong Kong, including The Fry Group’s, James Sutton.
Two weeks later, on October 14, a team member Paul Madden of The Fry Group Unfound Cycling team took home 2ndplace in the Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon. The race was part of a day-long event involving over 5000 participants including 11 UCI World Tour teams, three Pro Continental teams and the Hong Kong National team competing in the first Hammer Series event in the city.
