HMRC Enquiry Centres

If you deal with your own tax matters yourself, you need to be aware of the recent HMRC announcement regarding Enquiry Centre Closures.

As part of cost-cutting measures, HMRC are closing 281 Enquiry Centres.  Whilst the intention is to replace these with home visits, a scheme currently being trialled, it is likely to be the case that the unrepresented taxpayer is likely to find assistance harder to come by in the future.

As it stands the average call centre call takes 6 minutes to be answered.  If you are frustrated by this, do feel free to contact us for assistance with UK tax matters – we’re not going anywhere and we answer the phone an awful lot quicker!
